You seem to imply that your system has nodebus bridged to Ethernet using
an NBI module where the WP's are connected?

The mixed nodebus/Ethernet solution was never a good one because the NBI
had to select either nodebus cable A or cable B to communicate on.  You
should have a "CA" or "CB" letterbug installed in the NBI.  This same
device that used to connect a PW-OE (Venix PC) to the nodebus.  You may
experiencing nodebus cable switching that is causing your Ethernet
segment to smurf.  Check your nodebus cable switching rules within
System Management.

The other thing to check would be the rev of your network driver QF's
for your WPs.  You did not mention the release level you are running or
whether the WPs are B's (le driver) or D's (hme driver).

We have a couple of WP51's running single Ethernet because upper folks
didn't want to spend the money to hook them up dual node bus.=20
Occasionally one will "smurf" for a random period of time.  I can find
no
hardware problem. It will go back on line all by it's self.
I was blaming it on Nodebus traffic, just as a guess to what the problem
may
be.
Has anyone else had this problem with single Ethernet WP"s.  Is there a
fix
other than investing the money to hook it up dual?
