Re: [foxboro] Various questions on product dates (was: getpars qu esti on [was: interpreting ALMSTA])

Re: Beta sites

We are always looking for beta sites. Your account representative is the
correct contact. He or she will work with Thad Frost and Len Upham to
determine if your plant is a suitable location.

Remember, beta equipment doesn't always work properly and can have adverse
impacts on process units so be selective where you use it. Also, we really
need sites that can support the reporting and testing that an effective beta
test needs.

Re: FDSI

The FDSI FBM (redundant and non-redundant) are available today for a number
of protocols:

Modbus Serial RTU Master
Modbus TCP/IP
OPC DA Client
TSAA (Triconex)

The AB protocols are the ones we can't ship today.

Does that help?

Alex,

Would I need to talk to my Account Representative if we wanted to be a
Beta site for v8.2 (Solaris 10 on the Mesh). We have projects underway
that are moving our DCS infrastructure toward v8.2.

That might be about the time the redundant Field Device System
Integrator(FDSI) FBM is ready...which we are very interested in.

RE: PSS

Sure, but they are on the CSC website.

Re: AB and V8

Don't forget that V8 requires:

1) A pair of ATSs to talk to your old system redundantly.
2) Ethernet switches to connect the ATS and create the Mesh Network
3) AW70 to boot the CP270
4) CP270
5) FDSI FBM

Also, the dates are targets - not commitments. There's a procedure that
must be followed for commitments for unreleased products. Your account
representative must fill out a form and submit it for approval.

Can you send me the PSS for this?
