Re: [foxboro] VNC

Actually, the script to start VNC servers (included in the VNC package) is
a Perl script; it sets environment variables and handles command-line
processing, and probably a few other things.

I've installed the Perl package from sunfreeware.com with no problems on a
6.3 AW51E (Solaris 2.5.1, but I guess you knew that ;). As an alternative,
if you can read a little Perl, you can hack up an analog to it in the shell
of your choice; I did this awhile back for one of our AWs, but haven't used
it recently. I can send you a copy if you like.

Sebastian,

You probably downloaded the source and need Perl to build it. You should
be able to download the Solaris 2.5 installable package from
http://www.realvnc.com/download.html
