Re: [foxboro] V8 Letterbug Configurator

Ditto that Brian,
I know my technical ignorance may be showing, but why can't the system
recognize a new device when connected and allow letterbug configuration
right through the control configurator.
Would it be possible to initiate communication via the MAC address
and/or Hardware ID and then assign a Letterbug - just like with the
Letterbug configurator? All configuration data is kept right in the
control database so if a device is replaced just update the hardware ID,
install Letterbug, configure, download, etc. as necessary and away you
go. On less set of files and documentation to keep up with, also. This
sounds too simple to not have been done if there was not a valid reason.
Of course as with all things if there is a will there is a way. Or in
the case of Foxboro if they have a good enough reason there will be a
way. Maybe we just need to keep giving them that reason.

I'm still confused as to why we have to have a separate device, why
can't an
AW or some host station handle it?
