This is somewhat off-topic, but I point it out to maybe guide some product
development decisions in the future.
I never understood this approach to letterbug configuration (using a WinMo
PDA with IR). Basically you now have to buy a relatively complex, special
tool, one which you likely will not use for anything else, and that you
will have to keep a battery charged in. This kind of thing is the bane of
an instrument shop's existence. Letterbug configuration really should be
doable from ICC/IACC/IEE in 2009 (if they should have to be manually
configured at all). But if that is too much to ask, why not use a device
that plugged into the FBM (and received its power therefrom)? At the
least port the app to regular Windows on a laptop which _is_ used for
other things (one could user a USB IR dongle to get around the paucity of
IR ports these days).
