Re: [foxboro] Upgrade question

I hate to punt on this, but it's really an issue that you should
discuss with your account representative.
What you do depends on the support status of your equipment and the
level of risk you are willing to take on.

I know that this is not the answer that you want.

Alex,

what do you think is the "best" improvement for a
V4.3-CP40A-ABstation-AB.PLC5 integration ?
and V4.3-CP40A-Int30B-KF2-DH+Net(SLC500)

we want to upgrade it, but we are not sure about the best way (and cost)

does anybody has the same issue ?

jaime

I'm so glad Sprint is off the black list.

V6.2 - added the CP60
V6.3 - added the FF FBMs for CP60
V6.4 - added HART/PROFIbus DP FBMs for CP60 [Sadly, it's a Day 0]
V6.5.1 - added the serial Modbus FBM for CP60

V7.0 is basically V6.4
V7.1 is basically V6.5.1

V8.0 - adds
    Redundant FF FBMs
Redundant FDSI (Field/Foreign Device System Integrator) with either:
       1 10/100Base-T connector or
4 Serial ports (RS-232/422/485 with software selection)
    with the following drivers:
       Modbus TCP/IP
       Modbus RTU Master Serial
       Triconex TSAA
       OPC DA Client

Additional drivers for the FDSI can be quoted by having your account
representative send an e-mail to the I/A Series Device Integration Group at
iasdi@xxxxxxxxxxx

Does this help?

I am SO glad Sprint is off the blacklist.

CP60s support PROFIbus.

I was referring to:

Next step will be to use the Ethernet FBM to replace our existing AB
Stations.

The CP60 does not support the Ethernet FBM. For that you need the xCP270.

Always glad to serve.

AJ,
The Sherhan project is going in with version 8 on UNIX (I think that is
what they told me). We will have CP60 so are you telling me that the
Profibus FBM is not available? Hope that is not so ......
Thanks so all of the support you give the "list".
Sorry about all of the abuse that you had to take at the Conference. I
think that all of us understand the business case that you made and as
users we would like to see Foxboro in business for many more years. I have
a lot of faith and trust in you and if you say that Foxboro will continue
to support UNIX for sometime, I am okay with that.
Thanks
Troy

Troy,

As of this writing, only the serial Modbus FBM is available under the CP60.
You are going to need V8 and the xCP270 for that functionality.
