Tim,
I think Triconex' capabilities is fair game. So, I'll answer it, but you
can send me more questions off-line.
Three approaches that I know of have been used:
1) Modbus (TCP/IP I believe, but it could have been serial)
2) OPC (DA & A&E) using a Matrikon Servers on an intermediate PC like
so:
(H <-> PC <-> T)
3) OPC (DA & A&E) using servers built into the Triconex TCM.
The "embedded" interface of which you speak is the OPC in the TCM
interface. I'll ask marketing to send you some literature off-line.
You can send me other questions if you wish.

Alex Johnson

Subject: [foxboro] Triconex interface with Experion
This is kind of a strange question for a Foxboro users group, but I know
a lot of you are Triconex customers, and I'm hoping some of that subset
have experience with both Triconex and Honeywell.
I've heard that Triconex has two interfaces to Experion, both OPC. One
is a Matrikon OPC interface, and the other is "embedded". Our LA
refinery has experience with the Matrikon interface, but they would like
some more information on the "embedded" solution to see if that is
something they would want to implement. If anybody has any information,
please send me that off-line. I don't want to eat up any more bandwidth
on the list discussing those who should not have been named.
Thanks,
Tim
