Sylvain,
How does Foxview respond to these automatic time changes?

The TCP Timesynch is a comprehensive package that we have been=20
providing to I/A customers inside and outside of North America=20
for a while now. The package is available for both the 51 and the 70 =
series.
The package allows you to synchronize the IA master time keeper on the =
IA
node with an external time reference showing the local wall time. Your
external time reference can in turn be synchronized to a GPS or whatever
higher order time reference you may want to use. The package, called
TCPtimesync, will ensure that your IA master time keeper tracks the =
external
reference and all adjustments to the IA time are made in a smooth way so
that there are no problems with your process or historians.
=20
The only technical requirements for the external time reference are that =
it
runs the daytime/tcp or time/tcp protocol. If your external reference is =
a
UNIX box (for example Solaris) then this service is already present, if =
you
have an NT box, then installing the standard NT "Simple TCP Services" =
will
do it.
=20
Generally the sites that worry about time synchronization implement a =
scheme
where there is a local time reference synced to an external source (GPS,
atomic clock, etc) and all the systems on site are synced to this local
reference.
More information is available upon request.

I think you never noticed but my email address is snadeau@xxxxxxxxxx=20

Subject: [foxboro] Time Synchro
Hi List,
Can anyone help me with a robust method for time synchronization of =3D
different DCS's? We are using OSI PI for historization of the whole =3D
complex, and have several IA nodes and ABB Advant DCN's. Right now every =
=3D
node/DCN has its own time but we would like to have them synchronized, =
=3D
and also with the PI server.
Any hint will be helpful.
Thanks in advance.
