Re: [foxboro] Thin Clients on DM

Adding to that, the font server is /usr/openwin/bin/xfs. Well, on the F
box for sure.

As far as the fonts is concerned, I would use a font server on the AW
and on the Xterm specify where the additional fonts can be found.
Font servers run normally on port 7000, if I'm not wrong.
Just read your man pages on xfs.

Cheers,
Frits.

Subject: [foxboro] Thin Clients on DM

Hello list members, I am attempting to setup thin clients as X-terminals
on the IA system and am aware that there has been some success using
Wyse 5150SE terminals. I have several questions. Has anyone been
successful in loading the font files local on the thin client and how
was this done? I intend to copy them as compiled on the IA. Has a custom
image been created allowing the files to be kept locally? And what if
any setup changes are required in the IA in Solaris 8 for using as a
font server? Also, are any changes required on the IA itself in the
display manager config files that would be different from using Exceed?
I have trial units, Wyse S50, NTA 6020A, and Neoware all with linux
distribution. Another difficulty is getting touchscreens to work. The
units allegedly support both Elo and some support 3M microtouch.
I know the answers are out there....
Thanks!
