Re: [foxboro] TCPI

I'm still confused.

Are you saying that you have been told that two machines on the I/A Series
Control Network cannot 'ping' each other?

Can you be more specific about what you mean when you write, " now I
understand that the NCNI will not work on a TCP/IP network?"

wE HAVE A FOXBORO SYSTEM THAT CONNECTS TO A TC/IP NETWORK THROUGH A
RCNI to
NCNI to nodebus. But now I understand that the NCNI will not work
on a
        TCP/IP network.

I'm not sure what you are asking. Could you explain what you are
trying to
do? As a rule, we do not recommend placing non-Foxboro equipment
directly
onto the I/A Series Control Network. We do support things like the
2nd
        Ethernet port

As an aside, the NCNI does not block TCP/IP messages and we have run
TCP/IP
over our network for years and years though it is not the core
message
        transfer protocol.

Since the NCNI is not TCPI capable what device can be
used to
        connect the
nodebus to a network that uses TCPI
