Re: [foxboro] TCP Port No. for Historian ODBC

There are two ODBC drivers around.

One for our historian and one for Informix from Informix.

I should have asked which was in use. Good catch.

Hi,

my experience with ODBC drivers goes in another direction than Alex =
wrote about it.

I think that an ODBC driver accesses the informix database (with the =
configuration data for the historian) through the informix star =
software.

Please check your system:

aw# cd /opt/informix/etc
aw# more sqlhosts
#SQLHOST NET MACHINE SERVICE
PCAT00 olsoctcp PCAT00 star
Q3611U olsoctcp Q3611U star
aw#

check the file /etc/services on your unix box

#Informix client-server support
star 1541/tcp

and check the file C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\services on your =
windows system

You can use also a port query tool to check all the open doors of your =
computer.

Regards,
Andreas
