I don't know about the ODBC Driver specifically, but most netFoxAPI and
netAIM*API clients use the port number assigned in the appropriate
configuration file:
NetFoxAPI Server reads /opt/fox/ais/bin/an_init.tcp
NetFoxAPI Clients read an an_init.cfg file - sometime from their directory
sometimes from other locations
AIM*API Server read /opt/aim/bin/an_init.tcp
AIM*API Clients read (I think) an_init.cfg files
There is a line in each file that resembles (syntax will vary):
*servr = 127.0.0.1 45678 /dev/tcp 1024
The port number is the number following the IP address. In this example, it
is 45678.
It can be varied to suit the installation.

Subject: [foxboro] TCP Port No. for Historian ODBC
Hi,
Does anyone know the TCP port number used by the Foxboro ODBC driver for
the legacy Historian? We are setting up a firewall and the IT folks want=
to know this information. I have looked through my documentation but cou=
ld
not find anything about port numbers. Thanks for your help.
