Re: [foxboro] System Monitor, Remove Station

Rick,

You might want to back up /usr/fox/sysmgm and subdirectories before making the
test. The stations to be monitored by the System Monitor are listed in a data
file (not ascii, but you can see the names with the strings command). I have
edited this file in the past to delete the letterbugs then stop and re-start
sysmon but the really clean way to do it is to use System Definition (on your
Day1) and delete the MicroIA and perform a software install.

Requires a fair amount of knowledge of System Definition and the Day1 items.
One slip and you can clobber your system.

The really easy way to a GREEN System button is to disable (Inhibit) alarming
of your Micro IA in the System Monitor.

Hi Rick,

# find / -name rm_station
/usr/fox/swi/rm_station

I know nothing about the utility though, I just inhibit station alarming
for the stations that are no longer in the system to get a green system
light.

Let me know if it works!

All wise and all knowing list,

I've removed a station from the node, a Micro I/A, - good riddance... The
equipment has been removed from the configuration, but still shows in the
system monitor. I'd like to see a green sys indicator at least once in my
career. How do you remove it? I remember faintly about a rm_station
utility.

Thanks and regards,
