One more question about this interesting subject:
I'd like to connect this "system alarm" to PI ...

I'm trying to use this ALMSTATE in a LOGIC BLOCK in order to make the =
"AND 16" to have only a BOOLEAN of TRUE when there is a System alarm... =
but doesn=B4t work!

Is it possible to use this ALMSTATE in a CP BLOCK?

Use:

omget ALMSTATEW1BPB1

On my system, I got:

1AW51C# omget ALMSTATE1AW51C
ALMSTATE1AW51C (l): 48
1AW51C# omget ALMSTATE1AW51C | awk '{ printf "%04x\n", $3}'
0030

which says that I have an unacknowledged system alarm.

Hope this helps.


BTW, som can be used to see the list of OM variables in a station. Try:

/opt/fox/bin/tools/som
list
more list (repeated as necessary)

        Here is the information I promised on the ALMSTATE variable.

        1. Each workstation has a global called ALMSTATE<GCLBUG>. Do an =3D3D
        'omget'.
        This returns a decimal value.
        2. Convert it to hex. The bit pattern is as follows:
            |             |    Horn     | "ALARM" or  |   "SYS" or  |
            |    Unused   | Mute Status |  "Process"  |   "System"  |

             9:     CAG 1 Horns:     0 - Unmuted / 1 - Muted
