Russ,
B0700DU-D p. 23
Limitations:
The driver can access ControlLogix tags scoped as “controller tags”.
Program scoped tags cannot be accessed. This is a limitation from ControlLogix.

Question
Does the FDSI Ethernet/IP driver support the "controller scoped tags" (Local
Tags) in ControlLogix PLC?
Answer
In ControlLogix PLC, there are 2 kinds of data tags (Global Tag & Local Tag).
Assuming that you are referring to "Program Scoped Tags" also known as
"Controller Scoped Tags", which are local to a program in ControlLogix. The
answer is "NO". The driver does not support "Program Scoped Tags”. The FDSI
Ethernet/IP driver supports only Global Tags.
The V1.2 Driver added new features needed for display of device diagnostics
such as obtaining the
MAC address of ControlLogix.
The current version is V2.2
The MAC address and other usefull data can be setup with a combination of
EIP.bat script
and setuping up rung in the PLC for some of them. Well explained in B0700DU.

Subject: [foxboro] Strings from CL via FBM 233
List,
I'm wondering if there is a back door way to make this work. It's not
documented, but you can create a STRIN block to get the MAC address of your
Control Logix and I've tested this and it works.
I have tried to get other STRIN block connecting to a tag of type STRING
that is Controller scoped but I can not get them to work. Most Point_No
parameters for other data types have some suffix. I have no idea what it
would be for a string if it can be done. Anyone go down this road with any
success?
Russ
