ACCP
A number of customers use the ACCP to view Spectrum data in support of the
programs like the DMCplus Bridge, Connoisseur, PI, IP.21, etc. It is an
appropriate device for this style of operation and it is much easier to
support than the SMG.
As Harry mentioned it is an AW with other software, a add-in card, and an
FCG. It is pretty easy to use and setup. There are folks in the Houston
Application Engineering group that have applied and supported it.

Corey,
I suggest you consider the ACCP (Advanced Computer Control
Platform). The
ACCP consists of an I/A Series AW51, A Spectrum FCG, and the
Hardware/Software required for them to communicate. ACCP includes
Application Object Services software, to make the Spectrum process
data
appear like C:B.Ps. If you replace the SMG with an ACCP you should
not have
to touch anything in Spectrum, and your Spectrum network should run
just the
same as with an SMG...no load increase. If you have access to the
Invensys
CSC, you can find the ACCP User Guide at:
http://ips.csc.invensys.com/content/documents/iaseries/k0173tqh/foxdoc/b0193
/xs/index.htm
Disclaimers:
1) The ACCP is not designed for Spectrum migration. It is designed
to
provide advanced I/A applications to Spectrum systems. Spectrum
migration
products are where you should be planning to go long-term, because
they are
designed to provide the reliability that you really want. They
replace most
of the Spectrum boards, power supplies, etc.
2) The above document implies that the ACCP can be a station on an
I/A
Series node. It doesn't say it outright, and I can't raise anyone
in
Houston to confirm it. Alex may (gently) correct me later, but he is
out of
the office today.
3) It may not be what you consider "inexpensive"...but compared to
what?
Maintaining spare parts for an SMG?
4) I don't know of anyone using the ACCP for migration. If sombody
is, maybe
they will add a comment.
