Re: [foxboro] Spare I/O points

To build a 'spares' list, you would need to first construct a file of =
configurable FBM points, probably based on the configured ECBs, and then =
relate this to the actual point list. You could do the relation in MS =
Access, or using the Unix 'join' command.

Con

The xref utility has two distinct reports:
1. Cmp:Blk.Prm references, and
2. FBM point usage

The FBM usage report will tell you what is on each point of each FBM.
The points that are "missing" are the spares.
I don't think it can be much easier than that - i.e. no thinking =
involved.

BTW - If you are using MCIN, MAIN, and MCOUT blocks - this FBM usage =
report has the smarts built-in to figure out what individual points are =
used in those MCIN, MAIN and MCOUT blocks by checking for individual =
point references in displays, control, and sequence. This is not =
typically available from other fbm-loading utilities.

yeah, but then your own mind has to do the work, I'm too lazy for that. =
I envsioned somethink LIKE that, but with a list of the types of points =
found on each kind of FBM. So you could get a list of all the analog =
ins/outs, digital ins/outs, etc. Without having to think too hard :)
