There is a shareware program called "xv" available on the inet that does
X-Window snapshots, and I have never had color issues with it.  You can
create any file type - like giff, tiff, jpg, bmp etc.
I personally think this package is the deal.

Ya, what Ali said is right. I have tried "snapshot" also via a command
line and save the snapshot as "tiff" file. Then I inserted the "tiff"
file into a MS-PowerPoint slide or you can use any photo editing program
to edit the "tiff" file.

I have used "snapshot&" command in VT100 on our AW51E and found the
image to
be o.k when the image is saved in TIFF format. Try TIFF format I hope
this
will help you.
