Ron,
I think what is missing is to be able to ACK alarms when you are not in =
front of a workstation. Perhaps there is only one operator who is in the =
field working when an alarm comes in. It would be nice to cut off the =
klaxon before he has to go all the way to the screen. Perhaps he was =
doing something that he knew was going to fire the klaxon, so he already =
knows what caused the alarm.
Not an easy solution in IA where the alarm system is based on the =
premise that you need to see what caused the alarm (be in front of a =
workstation) in order to ACK it. This is not necessarily a bad idea.
He could probably take a contact input to an IND block where the IND =
will force a display manager command in a station where the alarm is =
active and that station is in a common alarm group with the other =
stations receiving the alarm.

Keyboard
Did you know F12 on the regular keyboard will also do it? Maybe you can
turn on the On-Screen Keyboard and use the F12 there? That is if you
have a workstation.
Also, I would think that you could use a discrete input (button) and
have it trigger in a seq block to do a silence horn silence command.
Anyone else have ideas?
