Re: [foxboro] Service Agreement

We struggle with this decision also. In our case our facility is at =
least a half days travel for a service eng. So, we find value in the =
ability of calling TAC. We have recently upgraded our equipment and =
will rely on our one year warrantee for parts. We have found that our =
failures usually occur in the first 90 days of operation. We are =
receiving better responses to our service needs. (In respect to just =
wanting TAC availability.
        As I mentioned above we are in Northwest Colorado (Steamboat Springs =
area) so, if we need a service man it is a 10K decision. Two days are =
travel time in reality. So, we keep a good spare parts inventory, share =
parts with other Foxboro plants at Xcel, and we have a gentleman's =
agreement with a plant in western Utah to help each other on parts. In =
eight years we have only needed parts from another plant one time.
        When our warrantee expires we will probably ask of TAC only.
        We have a Foxboro Users group in our company. The group was trying for
=
a corporate service agreement of some type.

Subject: [foxboro] Service Agreement

Good Morning,
We are in process of negotiating our new Service Agreement with =
Invensys,=20
and as we do every 3 years, we are struggling with understanding the =
value=20
we receive from this agreement. How many of the Users on the list have =
an=20
agreement with Invensys and do you feel it is a good value? For those =
that=20
do not have an agreement, have you had any issues that you feel could =
have=20
been handled better with a service agreement? We have had an agreement=20
since 1993, but have always struggled that the money may be better spent =

in a different direction.
Thanks in advance for your ideas,
