We to have had a service agreement with Invensys/Foxboro for years. As
Alan states one of the biggest values is the parts replacement. Our
field service has been good and bad over the years, of recent history
very good. However, almost every time we need field service in, there is
the need for him to get done fast and get out to somewhere else.=20
Now for TAC. If you can make it past the first line of Flip Chart
operators, and get to the meat and potatoes ppl you have better luck. I
have been in this game long enough I do know that the power cord needs
to be plugged in.

Ricky,
We have a service agreement and struggle with the same issue. It
provides value particularly with parts replacement; however I am not
sure that the price of the contract is equal to the benefit derived. My
biggest complaint is that the service folks appear to be stretched too
thin. They show up when they don't have anything else to do, but the
last few times we needed them, they were tied up somewhere else and
could not help us out for several days. TAC is usually less than
helpful. =3D20

Subject: [foxboro] Service Agreement
Good Morning,
We are in process of negotiating our new Service Agreement with
Invensys,=3D20
and as we do every 3 years, we are struggling with understanding the
value=3D20
we receive from this agreement. How many of the Users on the list have
an=3D20
agreement with Invensys and do you feel it is a good value? For those
that=3D20
do not have an agreement, have you had any issues that you feel could
have=3D20
been handled better with a service agreement? We have had an
agreement=3D20
since 1993, but have always struggled that the money may be better spent
in a different direction.
Thanks in advance for your ideas,
Ricky Cash
