Without doubt, an additional WP70 is preferable.
But in times of reducing investments, we also have to take a look to other
(cheaper) solutions.
And thit could be by creating a fully separate configuration workstation,
with own keyboard / mouse / screen, as a client on the present AW70 (after
upgrade to a WP70C, which incluides a boosted harware).
In this way, the existing keyboard / mouse / screen / annunciator keyboard
on the AW becomes exclusive available for operator use.
And the question was ; are there any experiences with such a client based
configuration workstation ?
Or what are the disadvantages / limitations on such a kind of solution ?
Foxdraw and ICC probable will work on it, but what with FoxCAE on-line ?
Is the configuration work going to be slower (more engineering time) and
less comfortable ?

Remote DM's or Foxviews are not an option with 70Series. You could
upgrade to a 70 style C and get more "room". Adding a WP70 may be more
efficient?
Using an AW for operations is not a problem. From the Operator's point
of view it's the same as a WP70. It may be a bit slower due to
additional functions it performs but that is usually compensated by
adding more memory and a SCSI subsystem so it normally is a non-issue.
I will continue having weekend now ;-))
