Hi Duc,

Which "format" utility did you use?
Be aware that the "format" command as present on the CDrom does NOT support
IDE drives!!
Copy the "format" command from an installed system to diskette and try
again.
(For some reason the same "format" resides in /etc as well as in /usr/sbin)

Same on the D box. I was asked for all the data on the drive 
(cylinders, sectors, motor speed, yadda, yadda, yadda), but the result 
was the same: that same error message about wrong magic number.
