Dale,
To change the AM environment to the FoxView environment when the AM is
started, add the following line to the end the file
\usr\fox\wp\data\am_cmds:
chngenv $ENV
Since this file is read and executed by each AM when it is started, the
"chngenv" command is executed for the AM. $ENV is a variable that
contains the name of the FoxView environment that
started the AM.
We added this to start the AM in the same environment as the current DM
environment. However, I think you could use it to initialize the AM to
whatever environment you want and have defined. We also added a line in
each environment script to change the AM to the same environment as the
DM when the DM environment is changed.
dmcmd run /usr/local/pref -$GCLBUG amcmd "chngenv
$ENV_DIR/CurrentEnviroment.env"
Hope this helps,

Subject: [foxboro] Screen Lists and Protections
Hello List,
Hoping someone can help me out. Even point me to the proper Manual. I
have a P91 Server 2003 Version 8.3. I run 10 TSCals off this server for
remote operator stations. I want the operators on some of the TSCal's
to have access to CLEAR PAGE, CLEAR ALARM, ACK ALARM but not the BLOCK
DETAILS button on the CAD Display. In other Cases I want only to allow
them (operators) to have access to ACK ALARM, and ACK PAGE and no other
buttons, especially not the BLOCK DETAILS button.
So to do this I simply put proper access levels on these buttons in the
Display Alarm Configurator. I also set up SCREENS and associations AND
types for the different TSCals and they seem to work fine and call up
the proper Environment when called etc.....HOWEVER when the CAD is
called initially from these TSCals the Buttons for BLOCK DETAIL, CLEAR
ALARM, CLEAR PAGE are all unprotected until I manually go in and do a
ChangeEnv myself. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to have
this protected on the initial call of the CAD AM?
