Re: [foxboro] SPEC200

Try Invensys tech support. Invensys keeps the documentation on file for a long
time. If you system invovles using of ECEP then you need to identify its name
and hunt each one down form Invensys. Good luck. I have worked on Spec 200
when it first came out. It is a very reliable system. I have seen plant ran
for over twenty years with very little problem other than occcasion replacement
of a card. Most problems are wires are too old and get brittle. Or the
cabinets are full of dusk due to infrequent opening - a manifest of how
reliable this system is.
The Spec 200 is a modular base IC device. All cards are designed based on the
same principle. The card which the IC is mounted on is insllated in a standard
19 inch rack. The system is built by directly wiring to the terminals in front
of the card. I/O points or control system is built by interconnecting wires.
There are both Analog and Digital type cards. Controller tuning is via a set
of screws mounted on the side of the card (you have to pull the card out to
change the tuning parameters).

Many special application can be done by re-wring the card or changing its gains
by adjusting its dial on the side.
