Peter,
I think even though the checkpoint is stored on the NVRAM of the CP it
will also have to be stored somewhere on the hard drive of the boot host
to be used in the event of a CP failure. Also if you take a CP from one
location / letterbug and boot it as another CP letterbug the NVRAM would
need to be cleaned of its old database and be reloaded from a checkpoint
file from the boot host.
