Re: [foxboro] Problem logging to Invensys GPS Web site?

Thanks for reminding me to remember my new "strong" password before it
faded totally from my memory.

I thought it was fixed for a while also but now it's back to the same
old behavior - I have to hit it and fail three times to get to the login
troubleshooter, where it finally gives me a dialog box that doesn't have
the domain name prefixed and then it works. It doesn't work to
backspace out the domain name on the original dialog. I did report it
to the webmaster and got the usual no response. It might be due to
browser settings, although I don't think so since the dialog from the
site sure looks incorrect to me. I sure don't have the patience to mess
around with it, I'll just keep failing three times first.

Russ,

I guess it's of no use to ask what the issue was?

(Not that I'm looking the gift horse in the mouth or anything like
that.)

Subject: [foxboro] Problem logging to Invensys GPS Web site?

Is anybody else having problems logging in to the GPS Web site?

I tried to go the Web site this morning, and the password which I have
been using for years is not recognized, so I had to ask for a temporary
password to be sent to me. Okay, so I logged in and changed my password,
and ran afoul of the new password strength requirements a couple of
times before it accepted my new password. So far so good.

I started downloading the XP SP2 patch, but the download got hung up at
about 70% complete (which is another story unto itself) so I reluctantly
picked Cancel and restarted the download.

Not so fast! Now it asks for my username/password every time I click on
the link to download the patch. And of course neither the new password
nor the old one would work. What is going on?

A couple of my colleagues also were unable to log in using their trusty
passwords. Hmmmm, what is going on?

But guess what? All the above happened with IE6. I switched over to the
unsanctioned Firefox and got right in (with the new password) and was
unimpeded on my way to download the XP SP2 patch. *What* is going on?
