Re: Did the original
poster ever provide his reasoning for WHY he wanted to
change the password...
I am the original
poster and if you read my e-mail, I've never said that I
need change the password. In fact, I never did it and I will
never do it. My problem is that I need information that help
me convince managers to change the version from the
non-secure edition to the secure edition because is not
free. The first thing that came to my mind was to get the
official position of Schneider saying something like
"In Standard editions you cannot change the password of
the Fox and Administrator users because if you do it the
following problems might arise..., if you need to change the
password then you must acquire the Secure edition". I
searched something like this in all the documents that come
with the system and I couldn't find anything. That's
why I posted my e-mail asking for official references with
the Schneider's position about this topic. It is not so
hard and in my humble opinion, this will help customer to go
from non-secure version to the secure version. I know we
have thr
ee default users in a non-secure
version, Fox, Administrator and IARemote. I know that with
IARemote there's no problem if you want to change its
password, the Fox's password is clear enough that you
cannot change it, but the Administrator's password is
not clear to me. I think that all of this could go in a
knowledge base article because this kind of documents are
official documents and all customers will have the right
information in the right place. Just my two cents about this
topic.
Thanks.
Ignacio
