Mr. Diaz,
The PIDE can alarm on measurement (H / L DEV) or output and these alarms can be
inhibited via INHIB parameter (as specified in INHOPT) Depending on your
version of software, you may need a Quick Fix to prevent alarms going to the
printer.
The INHIB will inhibit all alarms in the block and will prevent Operators or
Maintenance from setting the INHIB parameter. You can specify a packed Boolean
(toggle with CALC) to set the INHALM parameter. This will allow you to specify
all or some alarms for inhibiting. It will also allow operators or Maintenance
to still use the INHIB parameter to inhibit alarms.

Objet : [foxboro] PIDE Alarming
I want to set an alarm for a PIDE output which controls a fan's motor, to be
enabled only when another fan's motor is stopped. To do so, I've programmed a
CIN block which reads the secondary motor status and its output is connected to
the PIDE INHIB parameter. It didn't work, so I changed the IVO parameter of the
CIN block but the result was the same. Is there any other parameter I should
take into consideration to do this successfully?
Thanks in advance,
Gonzalo Diaz
