Re: [foxboro] P91 and remote clients

Sean,

In Microsoft's own words it sounds like this:

"One or more Windows Server licenses are required for each server
running the Windows Server operating system. Additionally, a Windows
Server Client Access License (CAL) and an incremental Terminal Services
Client Access License (TS CAL) are required for each user or device
using Windows Server Terminal Services."

is also useful to clarify licensing details for MS desktop applications
hosted by your Windows Server and used by the Terminal Services clients.

Subject: [foxboro] P91 and remote clients

Hi Everybody,

I am setting up a P91 (Server2003) box for remote clients. It was very
easy to get remotes to work with internet explorer, but I am still
confused. I have read the edoc B0700BX and it has still left me
feeling, that somewhere I am depriving a village of an idiot. My
questions are.
1) When a remote client connects to a P91 does it use a TS-CAL or CAL?
2) What are the differences in Foxboro terms between TS-CALs and CALs,
what is a TS-CAL used for and what is CAL used for?

Thanks
Sean
