Joe,
I presume you have gone on the web to look for replacement power supplies which
seem to be about $500.00 and these are the ones failing about once a year. If
you can take the old PS to a repair shop they might be able to tell you why it
failed. If temperature related, you might try placing a fan below it help get
rid of heat. Other failures such as poor capacitors (if the cause) mean you
are just as likely to have defective caps in the replacement.

Subject: [foxboro] P81 replacement power supply
Anyone know of another power supply to replace the ones in a P81 SunBlade 1500
(silver)? The original ones are 420 Watt power supply:
Samsung Model EPAP-420
Also has another number (I think Sun's part number) 300-1666-01 or 300-1666-02
depending on revision.
They are only available as refurbished now and they don't seem to last longer
than about 1 year, sometimes less, so if there's a new one available that meets
the specs and fits the SunBlade it would be nice to know.
