Well, I don't think it has come to that yet, but dealing with another
200-series fieldbus problem here over the last two days makes me want to

Yes, but that turns it into yet another implementation detail to be
handled
by the end suer/designer/integrator.
It would seem like a nice thing to have in (future) FBM's to me.
