Re: [foxboro] OSI PI system loading

We have a system with about 7000 points that are collected off three
AW's. I have never had a loading problem on the AW's.
What has caused me nightmares and pain was the way the PI software was
installed by a PI service rep. He did not install the PI software the
same way on any of the three AW's which when we have had problems has
caused immense pain in troubleshooting. To which 99% of the time OSI
wants to blame Foxboro and/or you as the user.
If you have OSI load the software and start the system up require they
document the startup path and shutdown path in writing or saved files
before you let them leave. Otherwise you will end up, like us, being
told YOU changed something in either of the paths or Foxboro changed
their software and that is the reason you are having problems.

Subject: [foxboro] OSI PI system loading

 Hi List,
We have a small legacy nodebus system,=3D20
1 CP30=3D20
4 CP40=3D20
3 CP60
1 AB30
1 MB30=3D20
1 AW51F, ver 7.0
3 WP51B, ver 6.3

We are planning on installing an OSI PI data historian sometime this
summer. I have a couple of questions.
1. Should I be concerned with PI degrading the performance of the
system?
2. PI uses API for data collection, are there any documents I could read
up on covering which version works with what?

Regards,
