Re: [foxboro] OPC-Modbus

Actually, I misspoke.

V4.3 is nearly identical to V6.1.

The difference is that SysDef does not support hybrid systems on V4.3.

So, you could move to V6.1 and then add the AW70.

Sorry for the confusion.

You can add an AW70 OPC I/O Gate to an existing V4.3 system.

This seem to be the chance we've got, though, with 51 boxes, legacy
historian, 4.3 s/w.

It should be possible, but...

I/A does not like data pushed down its throat. The one-shot set =
throughput
is pretty low (no more than a few points per second).

Is it possible to route data between AIM*AT OPC server and a third =
party OPC
server (for example Matrikon for Modbus TCP), using a third party OPC
client, for example Matrikon ODM?. I Understand that Invensys provide =
tools
for writing OPC data into C:B.P's (OPC I/O Gates), but for AW70 not for
AW51. (we don't have AIM historian either).
Thanks.

If you are at V6.5 or can get there (from V6.4, it's an update; from
V6.1/2/3, it's a Day 0 upgrade to V6.4 and then the update) you can use =
our
new Modbus FBM.

I will send you separately (sometime today or tomorrow), my OPC =
write-up
which might be of some use.

I would appreciate information about interfacing a modbus network to =
the
I/A
(51), through a modbus/modbus TCP bridge and OPC. It is just for
gathering
information, not for control, so I'm looking for something cheaper that
an
integrator to the nodebus. There are several Basler Electric BE1-951
relays
on the modbus network.
Thanks a lot
