Well David it seems your full of questions.
Step#1 Can you see the server from another computer attached to the
switch that the FBM233 is connected to? This is so any firewalls and
such can be eliminated.
Use Matrikon OPC explorer and try to browse the server computer and view
values in real time.
If you cant then:
-Check to see that you can use OPC Explorer on the server itself and see
values. This will bypass permissions and firewall issues.
-Then check the server to make sure the permissions are set to allow
everyone access on the OPC Server and OPC Enum.
-Check to see if the firewall on the server is allowing OPC traffic.
-I also found that Simple File Sharing must be turned off.(very obscure
bug)
Step#2 If you can browse and link to the server from another pc then
continue on to the FBM client side to troubleshoot. Again, try using the
Hub and Ethereal to see what king of messages your getting when trying
to connect. You should be able to see all the traffic and you will have
to go from there. Is the link establishing? What is the configuration?
So, my question is:
You said:

>bar for us, more like old times, so you can talk & drink more.)
So when are we having happy hour and what are you serving?
(I'm booked, See you there)
Oh and has anyone heard from that Mary Fagan?

On behalf of Ken Fox:
Having trouble connecting new Main Plant Computer which is a 2003 SP2
Server (HP Proliant ML350)
OPC Server from Scientech called PMax Ver 1.0.
to I/A Version 8.3 using FBM233 OPC Client Ver 1.3.1.
Theoretically all boxes are OPC DA 2.0.
Tried everything
