Re: [foxboro] OPC Server

My 7.1 AW70 starts up automatically with the status window and everything.
I did write a script to start the I/O gate immediately after the virtual
CP was up, instead of waiting some fixed length of time like Foxboro's
does, but other than that it is stock.

We skirted the DCOM issue by installing all the OPC servers on the AW
itself.

Re: [foxboro] OPC Server

Ron,

We have 2 AW70 V7.1 OPC Client I/O gate stations. Working with Foxboro it
appears that there is not a way to have the I/O Gate software
automatically
start on boot up and yet still have a way to be able to show a status
dialog screen for the tags like what shows when the software is manually
started. Thus, it appears we have to live starting the software manually
every time after a reboot. Is there anything can that can be done about
this issue? It would also be nice to be able to have the software run as
a
service.

I know Foxboro wants to put their efforts into their new OPC Client module
that connects to the new CP270s, but that is not going to do any thing to
help me and the other Foxboro clients that have spent a lot of money the
last couple of years to purchase and install these stations. We can't
afford to replace them for a number of years.
