Thanks Tom,
And I don't even deserve all the credits.
Happy to find the manual is available on Cassandra now. We will keep you
updated.
BTW: The OPC I/O gate was the main "driver" to documents our OPC stuff
to begin with. We had some problems to get running and had some great
help form our US TAC group. Once you get your fingers behind the I/O
Gate on a 70 Series AW, it's quite easy to get working most of the time.
I can only recall one occasion we had to give it up. That was more
related to the I/O gate running on XP. After we installed it on an NT
Box all went smooth. The "other side" was an OPC server on Windows NT as
well which may have been a problem in this particular case.

Ron,
Duc must have heard me talking, (over the dividers), about our
impending intention to implement a Foxboro FDSI OPC Driver for an
FBM232. That spurred him to post the document that you have written. I
have perused the document and am quite impressed with your excellent
presentation of details. We struggled getting an OPC IO gate
implementation up and running and communicating with remote servers and
then decided to wait for the FBM232, ZCP270's, and Version 8.1 software
that will be deployed on our new MESH network ~Oct. 2006. =3D20
I am interested to hear from any users that may already be
pulling OPC data from servers using the Foxboro FDSI OPC Driver for
FBM232 and/or FBM233 to an FCP/ZCP270. How critical is your data and
have you been satisfied with the response and robustness of the
interface? Are there additional gotchas/hurdles that you had to overcome
to make it work that aren't listed in Ron Deen's manual? Thanks in
advance for any feedback!
Cheers,

List,
Ron Deen sent me a document on OPC a while back and offered it to the
Cassandra Project. I've sat on it long enough. It seems to be a good
time to put in on the Cassandra Project Web site for all to peruse. It
is a hefty document at over 100 pages and 2.2 MB.

Thanks again, Ron, for your contribution.
