Hello All,
I do not have any valuable input on this specific issue, but I do have a
related question that I will through out to the group since the subject
came up. We have recently upgraded from 6.x Nodebus/Solaris/Historian
to 8.3 Mesh/XP/AIM*. The application upgrade was handled by Foxboro
engineering services. We have OAJ logging to AIM*; however, I have not
been able to determine how to access the OAJ messages in AIM*. The
Print Report to File option that was on our Solaris system is no longer
available. I have briefly looked into the OAJ message section of AIM*.
The Legacy OAJ Messages are configured for Logging =3D3D Yes, but I do no=
t
see any means of accessing the data. The answer I get from the
application engineers is that we need an additional data mining package.
I will admit that I have not taken the time to seriously review any AIM*
documentation myself. Can anyone verify if we do indeed need additional
software, or if there is just some AIM* configuration that needs to be
done. Perhaps I can take advantage of someone who has already done the
leg work for me.
Thank you in advance,

List,

The problem was first identified when importing the OAJ data with the
Alarm Management Tool PlantState Suite. Only data originating from the
Alarm Manager (CAD) has the problem. The problem has been seen on
Windows XP systems from 8.0B to 8.4. I have not personally noticed the
problem on Ver 4.3, 6.x or 7.x running on either Solaris, NT4 or XP.
=3D20
CAR 1008305 was entered June-2006. A QF was released in July-2007, but
was withdrawn around two weeks later due to conflicts with other QFs.
=3D20
CAR 1009910 was entered April-2007. This QF rolls up the above CAR with
a number of others. As of February 2008 there was no estimated release
date for a QF for this CAR.
=3D20
Reading through the release notes for AIM*AT 3.3
(http://support.ips.invensys.com/content/documents/iaseries/b0400/b0400e
l_e.pdf), the problem is not fixed by this release, which is
understandable as it is a problem with the Alarm Manager and not AIM.

Im not 100% sure about the problem being in the CAD, but I do know that
using aim spy the record shows them without the characters.

Ron,
I have certainly seen this on V8.x systems and the culprit was the CAD
and not AIM. QFs were released but then withdrawn for reasons I can't
remember. Please raise another CAR for your combination of I/A, CAD and
AIM.

I'm running Aim 3.2.3.53 and all the operator action acknowledge (Unack
to ack) records are missing data. They are missing the first 2
characters for each field starting with the act_type and below. Has
anyone seen this in their system or know of a fix or CAR?
