We copied sole118.pkg from jetdirect cd rom HP printer to opt/foxind.
This contains the hpnpl software, you can install this using pkgadd -d
/opt/foxind/sole118.pkg

Etc/services: delete last 2 lines after installation of hpnpl:=20
Bootps 67/udp
Bootpc 68/udp

Delete etc/bootptab

Etc/inetd.conf delete following line
Bootps dgram udp

Software is installed in /opt/hpnpl

Use config - select printer to select default printer on the AW/WP

Adjust etc/printers:

Printername 0010 PS PostScript Printer

Reboot station

Use hppi to install printers:
1)spooler admin
1) add printer to local spooler
Enter printer name
Select 1 and 0

Use lpadmin:
Lpadmin -p printername -s printerserver

Assign default printer: lpadmin -dprintername

Restart jettool

This is how we did it, it took some experimenting ;-)

Does another solution exist to print on a network printer without
jetadmin/jetdirect ?

Did you select the printer in the config/select printer option on the
AW? Did you reboot after adjusting etc/printers? I suppose you adjusted
etc/hosts otherwise you should be printing at all....

I want to install an network printer (HP K550dtn) on a 51D/E
box(v6.2.1).

I have trying with jetadmin(6.21)/jetdirect(1.18), she prints text file
but
she don't want print printscreen.
I have also modify /etc/printers.

Does anyone have this problem or could help me ?
