Re: [foxboro] Modbus Slave

Ron

This is certainly feasible. You need a CP60 (or CP270), I/A version
should be V6.5.x, V7.1.x, or V8.0 and there are QFs out that apply
specifically to the FBM224 that should be applied.

Moving a gateway to the FBM224 means a new set of I/O blocks, a new
configurator, and using CP period/phase numbering instead of Gateway
period/phase.

You should confirm that the gateway itself is overloaded, not the modbus
coms link. If you're at the limit on your comms, an FBM224 may not help
much without adding additional comms lines (make use of more than one
port on the FBM) or higher baud rates. Also may be worth checking if
your fire and gas system supports Profibus comms, the FBM223 is
available and supports higher comms rates that serial modbus does.
