Re: [foxboro] MicroIA / ERP communication

That's interesting. I've never heard of Ross, not that that means much.
They've never heard of me either.

Generally, speaking ERP solutions tend to be fairly custom and fairly
expensive. We've done a number of SAP interfaces and none of them were
trivial. At one site, we implemented a comprehensive ordering system from
the SAP order desk to blend scheduling, warehouse management, truck loading,
etc. At a second site, we implemented a link from the batch controls to SAP
and MIMI (a scheduler). At a third site, we did the whole IT infrastructure
for a grass roots LNG plant. That was interesting to say the least.

Anyway, some systems support OPC DA for data access and we can do that with
AIM*OPC DA Server. There are also things that can be done with Wonderware's
Industrial Application Server and I/A Series Batch for Windows if that is
present.

Beyond that, we can provide engineering services to define the project and
the right approach.

Hope this helps.

Ross ERP is not a device, it's Enerprise Resource Planning, probably
iRenaissance ERP.

Having said that I don't know what they have for integration software.
