Re: [foxboro] Lock Setpoint Value in Controller

The other thing you might consider is connecting the RSP to a REAL block's=

VALUE parameter=2E You can change the VALUE (and thus the setpoint) witho=
ut
opening the ICC=2E

Of course, there is the issue of access class=2E If the operator can 'see=
'
the detail display, he can source the RSP and get to the REAL block=2E

Just another thing to think about=2E

No, this is not possible=2E As Chuck Jones wrote:

A quick test in the CIOCFG will tell you that this is the case=2E

I know this as I happen to have to work through this just yesterday=2E We =
used
Chuck's solution of locking the block in remote (REMSW :Blockname=2EREMSW=
=2E1)
and expanded on it by securing the remote setpoint value using a similar
link back to itself with a value (RSP :Blockname=2ERSP=2E40=2E0)=2E

Dan,
You might try

SPT CName:BName=2ESPT=2EValue=2E0

I wish this helps=2E Thanks=2E

Subject: [foxboro] Lock Setpoint Value in Controller

Hello List Members,
I want to lock the value of the setpoint in a PIDA controller so that it
cannot be changed from the faceplate=2E I recall that in an earlier post =
it
was suggested that a configured parameter can be linked to itself in the
block configuration to lock its value=2E I've searched the archives but
cannot find this post=2E Does anyone remember how to do this?

Thanks in advance,
