Re: [foxboro] Linking files

Thanks for the help.
I'll give this a try with a "dummy" directroy first.
I assume Foxview needs to be shut down during this operation, so the WP should
be
in single user mode, correct ?

You could try this:

1) Make sure that there is nothing in /opt/disp that you want:
        find /opt/disp -print
2) Remove the /opt/disp directory once you have saved what you want
        rm -r /opt/disp
3) Move the displays
        mv /usr/disp /opt
4) Link the displays back
        ln -s /opt/disp /usr

There is no warranty on the above, but it should work and you could
practice with different directories.

Subject: [foxboro] Linking files

 Hi List,
I'm somewhat of a novice, so be forgiving.
I have a WP51B that originally had Display Manager, but is now running
Foxview. When we had DM all the displays were saved to /usr/disp. Later
when we moved to Foxview, all the displays were moved to /opt/disp,
except for this one machine, the displays on this one are still in
/usr/disp. On the other machines, there is a link, so that when a button
calls for /usr/disp/display1.fdf, it goes to /opt/disp. Can anyone point
me to a reference document that explains how to move the files and make
the link?
