Re: [foxboro] Letterbug Naming Issue

Jeff,
The FEM100 is for 200 series IBM's only and the 200 series last two digits
have to be 01-08 as there are a maximum of 8 FBM's/baseplate. If you are
adding migration cards I think they must be connected to the FCP 270 via an
FBI-100 but this might not be your problem. We are using Bailey migration
cards here and they always have a sixth character digit of 0. Our migration
card naming convention is 3F15B0, where 3 is for Area 3, F is for FCP, 1 is for
FCP #1, 5 is for nest 5 in the Bailey card rack, B is for slot 11 in nest 5,
and 0 is a wasted place holder for every migration card, (But I bet it is
dictated because of the naming rules imposed by the 200 series FBM's). Sounds
like they "got" you. Do you have any existing migration cards in service with
any 6th digit # other than 0-8?
I know we don't but I never knew why until now.

Subject: [foxboro] Letterbug Naming Issue

I've got an FCP270 with an FEM100.  When adding migration card FBMs in the
IACC, I get errors when using 9 or any letter in the 6th position of the
letterbug.  The error is "parameter value doesn't match format".  The manual
says that any character can be used for the sixth letterbug position.  Our
naming convention for the last 2 characters is rack number then slot position.
There are 12 slots so we are using A, B, C for slots 10, 11, and 12.  Any
thoughts?Thanks,Jeff
