Re: [foxboro] Infusion on corporte

My understanding was that the only supported antivirus was Symantic
Corporate. Invensys normally smoke tests patches, see if the patches
you've installed have all passed. I've got a few P91s, but haven't
deployed them yet, so I'm not sure what exactly they came with until I
look. We don't use Symantic in our MIS system, but our IT guys have
said they will provide a repository for the Symantic (or whatever)
virus database and make sure it stays up to date so that we can use
the supported antivirus. We're planning to install patches as they
are released by Invensys. Our MIS has agreed that our P91s can stay
behind the current patch level as the only connections to them will be
by fully patched machines (or solaris boxes) and there is no direct
access to the outside world.

I agree with Dirk - best to have a box of some kind in between your
Infusion system and the corporate network, or it's own VLAN if it is
only passing through the corporate infrastructure. Unless your IT
guys are total weenies, they will probably be happy to help you come
up with some kind of solution.

Regards,

Kevin
