You can use the ipconfig utility to change the address
without rebooting the machines. Man ipconfig. Make
sure you know what card to change, since changing the
primary card will disrupt your connection to the node.
How sophisticated is the second network? Special
routing? Domain name services? Any dependent network
services? If no, then hosts could be it.
