Re: [foxboro] IOC Explanation

Hi,

The B0193AX document for the ECB1 and AIN block (for example) gives the
optional integration periods for converting the mA signal to a digital value.
The default is 1/2 second. The IO processor integrates the value of the mA
over 25 milli-seconds, then it adds these 20 values, computes the average and
stores the value. If the AIN is also on 1/2 second period, this value ends up
in the .PNT parameter if there is no other arithmetic done by the AIN. With
this method, every change in the mA has some affect on the value in .PNT. This
prevents the nasty aliasing of signals that some data gathering techniques
induce.

Hope this helps,

Terry

Subject: [foxboro] IOC Explanation

Hello everybody!
Do anyone have in mind any document in which I can find a description of the
IOC (I/O coprocessor)?
The only document that i found a simple reference of IOC is B0700AN, but
without any special explanation for example of the reset procedure of IOC
etc.

Thanks, regards & wishes for a better 2009!
