I can't really talk about the rest of SmartPlant because I don't use it.
As for INtools, I can think of two things: a way to easily the I/O
assignment, tag, description, and range data to build I/O tags (AIN, CIN,
etc.), and a way to get the point assignments on the DCS back into
INtools. I've done the first already using ICC scripts and INtools'
standard reporting facilities, but haven't looked at the second yet.
