Re: [foxboro] IEE - CP Initialize/download time way too long

I wonder how much of that time is the CP and how much is the IEE tool
parsing/sending the data? CP30s are not this slow with ICC, so I'm
leaning towards the tool as the culprit.

Interesting info here, and I hope you find a resolution to this. We just
saw an Invensys presentation that included IEE amongst other things. It
looked better than IACC, though the GUI definitely is not conducive to
rapid banging in of blocks by experienced I/A pilots. We got told that
one solution to that was the scripting API, which was "ICC driver task on
steroids". Oh well, we all know what too many 'roids will do to you :)

Hi Shaun

I have been doing this download to the entire CP. I don't know if
I=
can break the marriage and download to only 1 CP (for four hours) then
whe=
n complete tell the new image to take over. That would be very cool :)

I know that there is a way to do something similar to this for the
=
CP-image (CP's Operating System)

In my mind 4 hours is not acceptable on a "Hi-Speed Mesh Network"
w=
ith W2003 Server that can run circles around my old AW51. I am know that
si=
milar loaded CP's on the old classic 10Mbit Hub node only took 5-15min
load=
ing into a CP40. So needless to say the 100Mbit hi-speed network with
FCP27=
0 should be quicker or at least the same amount of time. To make this
proce=
ss 4hours is NOT progress in my mind.

I have no idea what you mean by changing major rev digit?

Thanks

Peter
