Re: [foxboro] ICC help

Thanks to all. Will give this a shot after the holidays. Since there are
not a tremendous amount of blocks it maybe simpler just to rebuild the
blocks. Guess I should then reinitialize and reboot the CP. This is on my
test bed machine that I am building my latest project on, as I wait for my
hardware to ship from Foxboro.
That Alex is a god (small g since he has made a business case for MS .....
a very good one I might add .... just one I don't like :-) ).
Again thanks to all and a Happy Holidays.

And also this thread in Nov 2003:

This Alex Johnson fellow is really a fount of knowledge, I tell ya....

In all likelihood your CSA database is okay, so it's just a matter of
fixing
your workfile. When I ran into this kind of problems in the past (yes,
several times), I'd do a SaveAll, load that SaveAll into an off-line CP,
and
then copy the workfile for that CP (in /opt/fox/ciocfg/<CPlbug>) from the
off-line system to the on-line system, with all precautions taken, of
course!

As Alex says somewhere in his voluminous notes, it's not for the faint of
heart. But then, in my case, the official route of
"Initialize/Reboot/LoadAll" is not an option, so you get brave real quick.

Good luck, Troy!

Check Alex Johnsons write-up from 4/11/2003 on the freelists.org archive
for this group. Search for CP sync and it along with a lot more should
pop up. I have only gone the official route of performing a load-all
because I have the luxury of periodic shutdowns. Good Luck.

Okay, after many years of working with IA my worst nightmare came true. The
AW shutdown with the ICC open. Several (quite a few) new blocks had been
built. When the machine rebooted and I opened the ICC the new blocks were
gone. They are still in the CP because they are working and linked to the
graphic. How can I resync the ICC database with the work file? Or what is
the recovery from this?
Thanks
Troy
